Brittany is a recent graduate from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) program. Brittany has always been immersed in health and wellness as her mom has been a fitness instructor for over 35 years, giving her great insight into the value of lifelong exercise and strongly influencing a healthy and active lifestyle.

In 2010, Brittany earned a degree from the University of Guelph, completing her Bachelor of Commerce. During these formative years, she was introduced to her athletic career as a tree planter on the west coast of Canada. Brittany spent 16 years planting over 2,000,000 trees across the province of British Columbia, with many of those years held as the top female producer. After years in the field and updated life goals, Brittany was looking to pivot and integrate her desire to help others, with her interest in health care (having volunteered with the MS Society, the Canadian Cancer Society, The United Way, and most recently, at Park Place Pine Grove seniors residence) and felt Registered Massage Therapy was the perfect vehicle to do so. The clinical portion of her schooling re-affirmed this desire, gaining great value from her experience treating a broad spectrum of patients at WCCMT’s student clinic and outreach programs. Brittany has a passion for learning and a willingness to accept all challenges with her full focus and is looking forward to a long and rewarding career as a Registered Massage Therapist.

Brittany uses an evidence-based approach with her treatment planning and her goals with her patient’s are to help them improve or maintain their overall health and wellness. She is looking forward to building her practice and continuing to learn within the medical field about how to enhance individual care through the application of massage therapy.

Brittany lives for adventure and has lived a well-travelled life where some of her highlighted experiences include hiking to the summit of Mount Kinabalu in Borneo, Mount Seoraksan in South Korea and Volcano Acatenango in Guatemala. On her free time Brittany enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, cycling, traveling, and exploring the beautiful west coast in and around Vancouver Island. She looks at life as a big adventure in which hard work pays off and free time is to be enjoyed to the utmost.

Cristy Harper is a Registered Massage Therapist, Certified Structural Integration practitioner, and an internationally trained and Certified Anatomy Trains® Instructor.

Her educational pursuits have lead her on a life changing inquiry of the incredible human potential. Since 2004, Cristy has been studying anatomy, physiology, kinetics, and the divine and intricate relationship that exists within our bodies. She has taken a rather specific interest in understanding the myofascial system through human anatomy dissections where she is able to explore the interaction between the major systems that keep our bodies healthy and functional.

Cristys extensive experience as an anatomy teacher, and anatomy explorer have allowed her to understand human kinetics on a deeper level, working with clients seeking to improve their relationship to posture, reducing chronic pain patterns, and improving movement hygiene in an innovative and dynamic way.

The intention of structural integration is to restore balance in the myofascial and musculoskeletal system in such a way that promotes self sustaining and life altering postural rehabilitation, while empowering people to take control of their health. This method is her primary approach to her massage therapy practice as she believes it to be a powerful systematic approach that can change the way that people reside within their bodies, allowing them to find pain free movement strategies that intend to support her clients in living their best life.

Cristy continues to advance her educational pursuits with her recent completion of her Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences from Thompson Rivers University where she graduated with distinction in December, 2022. With intentions to pursue a Masters in Health & Aging in the near future, Cristy continues to strive to become a leader in health education.

Since 2017, Cristy has been travelling the world assisting and teaching alongside the USA & Australia/New Zealand faculty. Cristy is elated to be home teaching short courses in Canada, and looks forward to continuing to bring the Anatomy Trains courses and structural integration trainings wherever the opportunity presents itself.

When she is not buried in anatomy text books Cristy enjoys a fully health conscious and active lifestyle including long distance running, weight lifting, paddle boarding, yoga and is up for trying anything that will help in her pursuits of living a full and adventurous life.

Dr. Jordyn Newman’s passion for health and wellness stemmed from an active upbringing, which influenced her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (and Minor in Psychology) at the University of Victoria (2015). While representing the Vikes in Varsity Basketball, Jordyn experienced a variety of musculoskeletal injuries and spent a lot of her time in the rehabilitation room working with Athletic Therapists, Physiotherapists and Chiropractors. This drive led Jordyn to pursue a Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine and Bachelor of Science in Human Biology at the University of Western States in Portland (OR), where she graduated summa cum laude.

Daryl Thomson always thought he might end up working in a field where he could help and support others. Friends and family frequently commented on his ability to empathize deeply with others, to listen patiently and intently, and his knack for asking the right question at the right time.

His initial plan was to be a high school teacher, but after some life-transforming travels through southern Africa, he decided to complete his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Victoria (1993) focussed on history and english. This was followed by a Masters Degree in Public Administration (1997) which led to a 20+ year career in human resources. And then life happened.

After a major health crisis, Daryl made a major shift in his career focus and completed a Masters of Counselling degree at Providence Theological Seminary (2015). After graduation, Daryl worked at a non-profit counselling centre before joining a Victoria-based clinical counselling practice. And then life happened again, so Daryl returned to full time human resources work until Spring 2023 at which point he decided to pursue his counselling interests on a full time basis.

Daryl brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to his role as a counsellor. In his practice, Daryl takes an integrated person-centered, trauma informed approach that draws from ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy), attachment theory, existential / narrative therapy, and Gestalt therapy.

Daryl is a lifetime learner and has recently completed Level 1 Trauma Informed Practice Training through the Trauma Informed Care Institute in Vancouver, and is working towards Wilfred Laurier University’s Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Certificate program.
